Jalpaiguri, 14th October: Jalpaiguri district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, on Wednesday, staged a protest rally against the violence thrust upon the BJP workers during the ‘Nabanna Chalo’ March.
Reportedly, the BJYM rally commenced from the BJP office at DBC Road, which was attended by Balurghat MP Sukanta Majumder, Alipurduar MP John Barla, Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Roy, BJP Jalpaiguri district president Bapi Goswami, BJP Yuva Morcha district president Polen Ghosh, and many others. The BJP leaders and activists expressed outrage over the role of the state government.
Jalpaiguri MP Jayant Roy stated that the party workers have been harassed in the streets and attempts have also been made to attack him time and again. Therefore, the protest rally was organized today.
Alipurduar MP John Barla said that they have taken to the streets to protest against the harassment faced by their party workers.
