Siliguri, 22nd June: The IRCON International Limited has allocated a budget of Rs 30 lakhs towards the upgradation of Teesta PHC and Rambi Block Health Centre.
It is to recall, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista earlier in February had requested the Nodal Officer for CSR and Sustainability, IRCON International Ltd that is constructing the Sevoke-Rangpo Rail Line for helping upgrade the medical facilities along Teesta, under their IRCON Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The MP highlighted that the “NH-10 running alongside Teesta River is highly prone to accidents and traumatic injuries. But, because there is no trauma center in the vicinity, many people lose their lives for lack of emergency care.”
“I am most grateful to IRCON for honouring my request, and I hope that these funds will not only assist in establishing a Trauma Centre along the NH10 route, but it will also help in providing essential medical facilities, critical care equipment, and assist in repairing existing buildings. This will also help provide better medical facilities for the people living in the vicinity of NH10,” MP Bista added in a statement.
