INTTUC demonstrates against removal of vendors and RPF oppression at NJP Railway Station

Siliguri, 28th November: The members of the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) staged a protest rally against the alleged removal of vendors by the Railway and the oppression of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and demanded reinstating the vendors.

According to reports, the RPF has been accused of prolonged oppression of the vendors of NJP Railway Station. In addition, the Railway has allegedly decided to remove a number of vendors from the station platforms. Consequently, several workers are facing problems, prompting the Siliguri Town Block 3 INTTUC to stage a protest rally demanding solutions. The protest was held in front of the ADRM Office and a memorandum was also submitted.

Speaking in this regard, INTTUC President Sujoy Sarkar stated that the platform vendors have to be restored and the oppression of RPF has to be stopped. He added that the union would resort to massive agitations upon failure to address their demands.
