Alipurduar, 06th January: Based on a tip-off, the police seized 6 lorries with fake numbers from Falakata National Highway 31 area and three lorries from the Sishubari area under Madarihat police station. Two people have also been arrested in connection with the incident. They have been identified as Pradeep Ghosh and Harendra Prasad.
According to police sources, the stolen vehicles were brought to a garage in Falakata and their real number plates were removed and replaced with Nagaland number plates. The vehicles were then sold at a higher price. Police estimate that the North-Eastern vehicle trafficking gang is in collusion with this gang.
