Naxalbari, 03rd December: International Day of Disabled Persons was observed by the Naksalbari Handicapped Welfare Society. Awareness rally aiming to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development was taken out. On the occassion, a health check-up camp and drawing competition were also arranged.
During this, the chairman of the Mahakuma Parishad Arun Ghosh, Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandamoy Barman, former MLA Shankar Malakar, and others were present.
Society Treasurer Partha Bhowmik said that the society is working to help the differently abled in various ways including providing them certificates apart from bringing them under humanitarian projects.
