Kolkata, 20th March: The Indian football legend P. K. Banerjee passed away today at the age of 83.
The two-time Olympian and the only surviving goal-scorer of India’s 1962 Asian Games gold-medal winning team, Banerjee was on ventilator support in the intensive care unit for more than two weeks.
As per the report, he was suffering from sepsis and multi-organ failure due to pneumonia. He had also been suffering from Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and heart ailments.
