There is rampant Evasion of income tax in all sectors of life. Some are caught and some note. This has become a way of life in our country. If you deeply go into the whole malaise we may find that the income tax officers, are the big evaders of income tax? I suggest that the scrutiny of the returns filed by the income tax officer should be done every year.

There are many in Darjeeling who have amassed huge sums of wealth. There are people from various Government departments and businesses who have unimagined wealth and flaunt it openly. The law is useless as no action is/can be taken against them as they either hold big positions or bribe their way through. These raids are an eyewash to show the people. Nothing actually happens to these corrupt people as they are hand in glove with the law.
