Phansidewa, 25th January: Ghoshpukur Forest Department seized a vehicle travelling from Arunachal Pradesh to Bihar, laden with illegal furniture made of teak in Murliganj Check Post. The driver was taken into custody for not having any valid documents for the consignment.
According to sources, the illegal furniture is estimated to be worth more than one crore rupees. Ghoshpukur Ranger Sonam Bhutia stated that the driver is being inquired at present. However, till now no fact of huge quantity of wood has come into notice.
