Illegal teak timber and furniture worth six lakh seized in Siliguri, two detained for interrogation

Siliguri, 25th February: In a significant achievement, authorities recovered illegal teak timber and furniture worth approximately ₹6 lakh from the premises of Manik Biswas and Bhajan Roy of Salbari, Siliguri.


Reportedly, based on a specific input, a raid was conducted by Deepak Rasaily, Range Officer of Sukna Range under the Darjeeling Wildlife Division. All seized timber and furniture have been confiscated, and both the accused have been detained for interrogation and further investigation.
