Siliguri, 03rd May: The RPF team seized a large quantity of cannabis from the Kachankanya Express train. However, no arrests have been made in connection to the case.
According to reports, during a routine check of the Kachankanya Express train that had arrived at Siliguri Junction Railway Station from Alipurduar, the Town RPF team found an unclaimed blue bag. Upon searching the bag, two packets of cannabis were found. The RPF team then attempted to locate the owner of the bag, but to no avail.
Sources from the RPF have disclosed that the bag contained 8 kg of cannabis with an estimated market value of around Rs 1 lakh. The seized cannabis was handed over to the Siliguri Junction Town GRP for further investigation. Both the RPF and GRP are investigating into the matter.
