Fulbari, 06th August: Security has been significantly increased at the India-Bangladesh border in Fulbari due to the current situation in Bangladesh.
On Tuesday morning, citizens from both countries were observed crossing the border under stringent security measures, following similar activity on the previous day.
The escalation in security comes in the wake of Sheikh Hasina’s resignation as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Monday, triggered by a large-scale student movement. Subsequent reports and images have shown protesters looting and celebrating in various parts of the country. Authorities have intensified border security to ensure stability and prevent any spillover effects.
Despite the unrest, many Bangladeshi citizens who had traveled to India for various reasons were seen returning to their homeland on Tuesday. Those returning expressed that the situation in Bangladesh is gradually stabilizing and called for the restoration of peace in the country.
