“Greedy ones” can leave the party, doors are open: Mamata Banerjee in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 03rd February: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting at Alipurduar Parade Ground on Wednesday.


While speaking at the public meeting, the Chief Minister made a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and those who deserted TMC ahead of the assembly polls. She claimed that only the “greedy ones” are joining the saffron party.

“There is no place for such greedy people in TMC. Our party tickets are not for sale. Those who are with people will automatically get tickets. Our leaders are our booth workers,” Banerjee further added. he TMC supremo further advised anyone wanting to leave the party to do so and that the doors are open. But if they choose to stay at the party, they have to work as a disciplined soldier.


“Those who have switched political allegiance will be defeated in the assembly polls, their shops will be closed after the polls,” she said.

Without naming the former forest minister Rajib Banerjee, who recently walked out of TMC and joined the BJP, Mamata Banerjee alleged that irregularities have been detected in the recruitment of ‘Bana Sahayaks’ during his tenure. “We will investigate it. Everything will be investigated,” she further maintained.

Further taking a jibe at the BJP, Mamata Banerjee accused BJP of making false promises before every election and fleeing afterwards. She said the BJP is full of greedy people who “instigate riots”.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government is giving lease to all the refugees and claimed that the state has done a lot for the development of tea gardens in the region. She added that a notification has been issued for Narayani Sena, which will enable many people to get jobs. Banerjee claimed that the TMC will win the upcoming assembly polls.
