Grand rally held in Siliguri to mark Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and Siliguri Municipal Corporation anniversary

Siliguri, 12th January: A grand rally was organised in Siliguri on Monday to celebrate the 164th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the 75th anniversary of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.


The procession commenced from Baghajatin Park, moving along Hill Cart Road and concluding at Vivekananda More, also known as Jhankar More. The event ended with floral tributes and homage at the statue of Swami Vivekananda.

Mayor Gautam Deb, Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar, monks from the Ramakrishna Mission, and other dignitaries attended the programme.


Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Deb said that Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and philosophy continue to inspire the youth and guide them on the right path. He added that the 75-year journey of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation reflects the city’s overall development and progress.
