Grand procession taken out in Siliguri to celebrate joy of Durga Puja getting recognized by UNESCO

Siliguri, 01st September: A procession was taken out throughout the state of West Bengal by the state government in the joy of UNESCO declaring Durga Puja as a World Heritage Site. In regard to this, a grand procession was taken out in Siliguri, where more than 15 thousand people both from hills and plains joined the procession. 
The procession commenced this afternoon in front of the Terai School, passed through the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das flyover, and ended in front of Baghajatin Park. Students from various clubs, schools, and colleges of the city also participated in the procession. The culture of Bengal, Durga Puja was highlighted through the tableaux. Officers of the district administration of Siliguri and Mayor of Siliguri Goutam Deb, Chairman Arun Ghosh were also present in the procession.
