Siliguri, 31st October: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar who has scheduled a month-long tour of North Bengal, will be arriving in Siliguri’s NJP station by today evening.
Reportedly, the Governor will spend the night at the city’s State Guest House and will leave for Darjeeling on Sunday morning. The Governor will attend various events at the Raj Bhavan in Darjeeling.
According to sources, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar will most likely interact with representatives of various political parties and eminent figures in Darjeeling. And will return to Kolkata on December 01.
It is to be noted, the Governor met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Thursday and later called a press meet. while addressing the media, he attacked the Mamata Banerjee led government and stated that he was worried about the holding of free, fair and fearless elections in the state that are due about six months from now.
Countering the allegations, the Trinamool Congress condemned the Governor’s statement and called it to be false, mischievous and politically motivated.
