Siliguri, 26th November: Kawakhali Traffic Guard police issued a challan to a government-labelled vehicle after it was found overspeeding during an enforcement drive. Police stopped the vehicle, checked its documents, and penalised the driver for violating speed norms.
In a separate incident, a municipal corporation employee riding a motorcycle at high speed was also stopped and issued a challan for overspeeding.
Officials of Kawakhali Traffic Guard said traffic rules apply equally to government staff and the public. They added that most accidents occur due to speeding, and speed guns are being used to monitor vehicles and ensure road safety.
