Rajganj, 16th June: A goat theft bid took an unexpected turn when an e-rickshaw carrying the stolen animal met with an accident in the Sahudangi More area of Rajganj on Monday afternoon, leaving two individuals injured.
According to local sources, the e-rickshaw collided with a freight vehicle, causing it to overturn. Locals rushed to the spot to help the injured. However, they were soon shocked to find a goat in the vehicle and alleged that the passengers were attempting to steal it from nearby Chattarpara.
The Bhorer Alo police reached the scene soon after being informed. The owner of the goat stated that it was grazing in a field when he noticed suspicious individuals sitting in an e-rickshaw nearby. Shortly after, the goat went missing, and the same vehicle was involved in the accident while allegedly fleeing with the animal.
Police are investigating the incident and questioning those involved.
