Siliguri, 06th December: After almost three and a half years, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha founder leader Bimal Gurung reached Siliguri today to attend a mega meeting that was organized at Indira Gandhi Maidan on behalf of the Bimal faction GJM to welcome Gurung and other party workers who went into hiding after the 2017 Gorkhaland agitation.
Gurung, in his half an hour speech, took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janta Party and asked his supporters to support TMC in the upcoming polls.
Gurung’s car reached Indira Gandhi Maidan at 4.15 pm today. Addressing the stage, he said that although they supported BJP in the previous elections, the party failed to keep its promises. He accused BJP of never clarifying its position concerning Gorkhaland. Hence, he demanded the resignation of Darjeeling MP Raju Bista.
He also indirectly accused Anit Thapa and Binay Tamang of corruption. He further said that in the next few days, meetings and rallies will be held all across Darjeeling hills, Terai, and Dooars.
