Bagdogra/Siliguri, 28th November: After being underground for almost three years, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (Bimal Gurung faction) General Secretary Roshan Giri and Yuva Morcha leader Dipen Malay arrived in Bagdogra Airport from Kolkata today.
On this occasion, the duo was greeted by thousands of supporters of various fraternal organizations of GJM who had gathered at the Bagdogra airport premises. The supporters welcomed the leaders chanting ‘Zindabad’ slogans.
According to party sources, Roshan Giri and Dipen Malay will chiefly be present at the grand public meeting scheduled to be held in Kurseong on Sunday. The meeting is being organized on behalf of GJM Kurseong sub-divisional committee.
It is to recall that after the 2017 Gorkhaland Agitation, GJM Founder Chairman Bimal Gurung, General Secretary Roshan Giri and a large number of other top leaders and activists of the party went into hiding after violence erupted in the Hills.
However, after the dramatic public appearance of Bimal Gurung in Kolkata in October, the political scenario in the hills has drastically been affected.
