Cooch Behar, 28th July: A peculiar case involving a girlfriend’s demand for marriage has emerged in Ward No. 08 of Tufanganj Municipality, Cooch Behar district. Insistent on her request, the girlfriend has resorted to sitting on a dharna in front of her lover’s house. The individual at the center of this issue is Dibakar Basak, a resident of the ward.
According to allegations, their acquaintance developed into a romantic relationship. Dibakar Basak promised marriage to the girl and engaged in a physical relationship with her multiple times. However, he later reneged on his commitment to marry her, leading to the current situation where the girlfriend is protesting in front of his house.
In response to the situation, Dibakar’s elder brother, Shubhankar Basak, refuted the girlfriend’s claims. He stated that the girl’s assertion of a seven-year-long relationship is entirely false.
