Alipurduar, 22nd January: The recovery of a girl’s body from the Dalsingpara Tea Garden in Alipurduar district has sparked outrage and tension. Protesting the incident, the family and local residents blocked the Asian Highway (AH) on Wednesday, demanding justice.
According to reports, the girl was in a romantic relationship with a youth, but tensions had recently arisen between the two. On Tuesday morning, the girl left her house, and by the afternoon, her family approached the police after failing to locate her.
Later that night, her body was found in the tea garden. The family has accused the boyfriend of murdering her, leading to widespread anger in the community.
On Wednesday, residents staged a protest by blocking the Asian Highway, demanding strict action against the accused. The situation remains tense.
