Gajoldoba sees increasing tourist crowds as migratory birds arrive for winter season

Gajoldoba, 31st December: As the winter season sets in, the Teesta Barrage area in Rajganj has become a hub for bird watchers. The flock of migratory birds has gathered visitors from across the country and abroad. Consequently, boat rides have gained significant popularity for tourists to view these birds.


Every year, as winter begins, migratory birds from countries like South Africa and Siberia flock to Gajoldoba. This year, several species of birds have already made their way to the Teesta Barrage. The area in Bhorer Alo, situated near the bird sanctuary, has become a notable tourist destination during winter.

Local and international tourists eagerly visit Gajoldoba to witness the birds. Many tourists take boat rides, with the boatmen acting as guides, helping visitors identify different species of birds. As a result, tourists get to observe the birds and learn about their species and names.


In this regard, the boatmen in the area added that as soon as the winter season begins, various migratory birds start arriving in Gajoldoba. Tourists are thrilled to spot unfamiliar bird species during their boat rides. Significantly, the bird population has increased compared to the previous years.
