Siliguri, 10th December: A fresh autopsy of the body of Ulen Roy, who lost his life during BJP’s Uttarkanya campaign on December 07, has not been conducted yet.
Reportedly, the post mortem of Ulen Roy was carried out on the day he died. The report stated that Roy died due to shotgun injuries. While the state police tweeted that they do not use shotguns, TMC held BJP responsible for Roy’s death and stated that the party members own shotguns.
Meanwhile, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Jalpaiguri District Court considered the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) petition for conducting a fresh post-mortem of Ulen Roy in the presence of 3 doctors with full video recording.
However, Ulen Roy’s body was not re-examined at North Bengal Medical College Hospital yesterday as no necessary instructions were issued on behalf of the health department.
In a letter to the NJP police station, the health department informed the police that the initial autopsy was done at NBMCH in the presence of the specific three doctors appointed for performing post-mortem and a video recording was also done. Hence, they asked the court to specify which three doctors should conduct the autopsy now.
On the other hand, Jalpaiguri district BJP filed a counter-application and asked the court why an autopsy is not being done despite the verdict.
The Jalpaiguri CJM court informed that the verdict of December 08 will remain in force and the verdict of today’s application will be heard tomorrow.
