Four shops gutted in a fierce fire at Barobisha in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 23rd May: Four shops were engulfed in a devastating fire in the Commercial Sales Tax area near Barobisha, close to the Assam border. The incident occurred late Monday night when residents noticed the flames and immediately alerted the fire brigade and the police. Acting promptly, a fire engine from Barobisha Fire Station swiftly arrived at the scene. Later, another engine from Alipurduar also reached the location. Firefighters worked diligently throughout the early hours of today to extinguish the fire completely.


Reportedly, a pharmacy, a grocery store, and two other shops fell victim to the raging fire, resulting in substantial damage. The estimated loss from the incident amounts to several lakhs of rupees. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of it.
