Four miscreants arrested in Siliguri before planned crime

Siliguri, 11th January: Four miscreants were arrested by plainclothes personnel of Siliguri police station before they could carry out a planned criminal act. The operation was conducted on Saturday night in the vegetable market area of Sarbahra Colony under Ward No. 28 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.


According to police sources, the miscreants were allegedly hatching a conspiracy to engage in criminal activities in the area. Sensing the presence of the police, some suspects managed to flee the spot, while four persons were apprehended at the scene.

The arrested persons have been identified as Vishwanath Roy, Pappu Roy, Sujit Paswan, and Bijen Tamang. Various incriminating articles were recovered from their possession during the operation.


All four accused were produced before the Siliguri court on Sunday. Further investigation into the matter is being carried out by Siliguri police.
