Foundation stone laid for deep tube well project in Siliguri’s Ward No. 33

Siliguri, 23rd September: In a bid to address the drinking water crisis, the foundation stone for a deep tube well project was laid in block D of Surya Sen Colony, Ward No. 33, under the initiative of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.


Reportedly, the tube well will be installed with support from the Public Health Engineering Department at an estimated cost of 50 lakh rupees.

On Monday, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb and Chairman Pratul Chakraborty unveiled the plaque for the project, with MMIC Dulal Dutta and Borough Committee No. 4 Chairman Jayanta Saha also in attendance.


During this, Mayor Gautam Deb highlighted that the new project will benefit not only the residents of Ward No. 33 but also those in Ward No. 34, helping to alleviate the drinking water problem in the area to some extent.
