Jalpaiguri, 21st June: Based on a tip-off, the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police, on Saturday night, launched operations in the Dinbazar Tin Konia More and arrested 5 people along with firearms. Reportedly, all the arrested individuals are residents of Jalpaiguri and Haldibari.
A pipe gun, knife, live cartridge, iron rods, and stolen mobiles were recovered from their possession. During police interrogation, they confessed that they had stolen the mobile phones from different areas of Siliguri.
In this context, Jalpaiguri Additional Superintendent of Police Srikanta Jagannath Elward stated that all five of them gathered at the Dinbazar area with a criminal intention.
The arrested individuals were produced before the Jalpaiguri court today. The police have launched a further investigation into the incident.
