Just days before the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympic, two athletes tested positive for the coronavirus in the Tokyo Olympic Village after a team colleague was also infected. The organisers have not revealed their identities.
As per the information, more than 18,000 games participants have arrived from overseas since July 01. Apparantly, all of them had at least 2 negative tests before arrival. When they arrived, they had another test and are being kept in a strict testing regime.
The first batch of Indian athletes for the Games left on Saturday and have arrived in Tokyo this morning. The 88-strong Indian delegation comprised, archers, the two hockey teams, table tennis players and swimmers among others.
