Fire in TMC party office in Takimari, BJP worker detained by police

Rajganj, 07th July: The police of Milanpally Outpost under the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Police Station detained a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in connection with the incident of fire at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office in Takimari, Rajganj. The detained BJP worker has been identified as Ramkanai Mandal.


According to reports, a fire broke out in the TMC party office located near Takimari market in the early hours of Friday. Following this, the TMC accused the BJP party of the act. In the incident, several documents and furniture in the office were burnt. After the incident, a complaint was filed in the police station on behalf of the TMC party. Meanwhile, police initiated an investigation based on the complaint and detained a BJP worker. Additionally, police are also on a hunt to nab other accused involved in this incident.

After the incident, the BJP party, while denying the allegations, accused the TMC of framing the party in the incident. The BJP party alleged that the ruling party had set the fire by themselves fearing a loss in the Panchayat election. Later, a route march was undertaken by the central forces in the area for the maintenance of law and order.
