Siliguri, 27th October: Panic spread at a residential complex on Zilla Parishad Road near Don Bosco More in Ward No. 41 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation after a fire broke out in a kitchen on the first floor on Monday night. The fire was brought under control quickly by the residents, preventing a potentially serious incident.
Residents alleged that a mother and daughter living on the same floor were responsible for the incident. They claimed that several complaints had been raised against the duo in the past and expressed concerns about the safety of other residents due to their alleged behaviour.
The residents warned that a major accident could occur at any time and appealed to the administration to investigate the matter seriously and take appropriate action against those responsible.
Upon receiving information, police from Bhakti Nagar Police Station reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
