Siliguri, 06th February: A fire broke out after a truck and container collided head-on with each other in Matigara causing panic in the area.
As per the report, the freighter truck was leaving for Kishanganj from Champasari this morning, when a container heading from the opposite direction rammed into it and overturned. A fire suddenly broke out engulfing the truck.
After receiving the information, one of the fire engines reached the spot and controlled the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. Locals allege such accidents occur frequently in the flyover enclosed area and the police usually turn a blind eye to the matter.
