Naxalbari, 21st November: In a significant development, the Naxalbari police have apprehended another member of the accused gang involved in the motorcycle theft case and recovered a stolen two-wheeler. The accused has been identified as Ravi Das, a resident of Bara Maniram Jote in Naxalbari.
According to reports, this is the fifth successful arrest made by the police following the detailed investigation into the string of motorbike theft cases in several regions and the subsequent arrest of the main accused, Muhammad Sabir Alam. Following the arrest, a stolen bike was also recovered.
On Tuesday, the accused has been produced in the Siliguri division court. At present, the accused is held on remand while the police are engaged in further investigation to bring to light other suspects involved in the motorcycle theft.
