Siliguri, 13th May: In a major breakthrough, Matigara police held a father-in-law and daughter-in-law duo with substantial amount of cannabis. The arrested have been identified as Bablu Mohammad and Fatima Begum.
Reportedly, the cops of Matigara police station raided a house in Sukanta Pally area this morning and recovered about 45 kilograms of cannabis estimated to be worth around 34 lakh 40 thousand rupees kept hidden under the floor. Police maintained that the drugs had been brought to Siliguri from Cooch Behar for smuggling.
ACP Manish Yadav held a press conference at Matigara police station on Friday and stated that the duo has been taken into police custody and will be interrogated.
