Fast food seller dies after attack on the way home from a wedding in Siliguri, 5 arrested

Siliguri, 09th May: In a tragic incident, a young man, identified as Joy Barman (24), succumbed to his injuries at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) after being brutally attacked by miscreants on his way home from a wedding ceremony.


The incident led to the arrest of suspects identified as Adesh Nagesia, Shekhar Kujur, and Abhay Nagesia, from New Chumta Tea Estate, while Om Kishan and Gagan Nagesia are residents of Tipu Tea Garden.

According to reports, Joy Barman, a fast food seller from Shanti Nagar, was violently attacked on his way home from a wedding ceremony at the Tukria More in Naxalbari. It has been alleged that the miscreants struck the youth with an iron rod on the head leading to severe injuries. The local police swiftly launched an investigation which resulted in the arrest of five individuals believed to be involved in the attack.


Police sources revealed that the suspects were present at the wedding where the miscreants engaged in an altercation with Joy Barman, ultimately leading to the violent assault. The authorities have remanded the arrested individuals and are engaged in further investigation to ascertain any additional suspects involved in the incident.
