Siliguri, 13th December: The Excise Department has uncovered a large stock of illegally stored liquor worth nearly ₹31 lakh in Siliguri.
Acting on a tip-off, the Jalpaiguri Excise Commissioner, Sujit Das, led a raid at a house on Pranami Mandir Road in Kalijhora, under the jurisdiction of Sevoke Police Station, where a significant quantity of liquor from Sikkim was recovered. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Commissioner Sujit Das confirmed that the liquor seized has an estimated market value of ₹31 lakh. Authorities are now actively searching for the owner of the house involved in the illegal storage.
