“Even if PM Modi contests from this seat, he will lose”: TMC candidate Sankar Malakar during campaign in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 12th April: Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Sankar Malakar on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his election campaign, claiming that the party would face defeat in the constituency even if Prime Minister Narendra Modi were to contest from the seat.

Malakar led a nearly 15-kilometre-long bike rally across multiple areas in Naxalbari, accompanied by party workers. The rally began at Rathkhola and passed through key locations including the Bus Stand, Rakam Jote, Ketugabur Jote, Mallabari, Bara Maniram, and Chhota Maniram, covering around 20 villages in the Hatighisa region. During the rally, he appealed to residents to extend their support and vote in his favour.

District Chairman Sanjay Tibrewal and TMC coordinator for the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency Arun Ghosh, were also present at the event along with other party members.

Speaking to the media, Malakar said he is actively engaging with voters through door-to-door outreach and that the campaign is progressing with strong momentum.

Taking a swipe at the Prime Minister’s recent public meeting in Siliguri, Malakar reiterated his stance, stating that even if Narendra Modi contests from the constituency, he would still lose. He further added that increased visits by Modi to the region would result in fewer votes for BJP.
