Endangered Indian Roofed Turtle rescued in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 25th March: An endangered species of turtle was rescued in Jalpaiguri on Tuesday morning.


The turtle was caught in a net while fishing in a pond near Assam More. Local residents noticed it and immediately informed the environmental conservation organization Spoar.

Upon receiving the information, members of the organization arrived at the location and identified the turtle as an Indian Roofed Turtle. After the rescue, the turtle was safely released into the Karala River.
