Alipurduar, 26th March: Sensation prevailed after a wild elephant entered the West Madarihat area of Alipurduar and went on a rampage.
Reportedly, the animal came out from the nearby Jaldapara forest and entered the said area, destroying the farmlands and security gate of the railway. After a long chaotic rampage, the elephant returned to the forest. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of panic was seen among the locals regarding this incident.
