Elephant attack damages two houses in Alipurduar; four injured

Alipurduar, 21st September: In a disturbing incident, two houses were damaged due to an elephant attack in the Bagmara area of Hemaguri, within the Kumargram block of Alipurduar district. Four individuals were injured during the attack.


Reports indicate that an elephant entered the area from the Ghoramara forest early in the morning and invaded the home of Bablu Oraon, causing destruction to two of his rooms. At the time, Bablu Oraon and three other family members were inside the house and sustained injuries.

Local residents quickly responded to the scene, rescuing the injured individuals. Following the incident, the locals notified the Ghoramara Forest Department office. Forest personnel arrived at the location and transported the injured to the Kumargram Health Center for treatment.


According to local sources, elephant attacks in the area have been frequent, prompting residents to call for increased surveillance from the forest department.
