Alipurduar, 20th March: An elderly man was killed and two others were injured in a bison attack in the Parokata area of Alipurduar. The deceased has been identified as Narayan Das (72).
It has been learned that two bison entered the Parokata area of Alipurduar No. 2 block on Saturday. The residents noticed the bison in the said area on Sunday morning. Three people including an elderly man were injured in the incident. They were rushed to Kamakhyaguri Block Health Center and shifted to Alipurduar District Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Meanwhile, the bison took shelter in a bamboo bush in the area. The forest workers rescued the bison by firing sleeping bullets.
