Siliguri, 03rd September: Members of the East Bengal The Heart of Siliguri paid tribute to the former President Pranab Mukherjee in front of Siliguri Kanchenjunga Stadium.
Reportedly, Pranab Mukherjee was a lifelong member of the East Bengal Club. Candles were lighted, a wreath was laid at his portrait and a minute of silence was observed in his memory.
Organization member Nantu Pal, Madan Bhattacharya, Arup Ratan Ghosh, Sourav Bhattacharya, Rabin Majumder, and other members were present during the programme.
The former President of India Pranab Mukherjee breathed his last on August 31 at the age of 84. He was reportedly being treated for a lung infection at the Army Research and Referral hospital. He had also tested positive for the coronavirus at the time of his admission followed by a respiratory infection.
