DYFI stage protest demanding normalization of drinking water service in Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th September: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest with buckets on their head demanding proper drinking water service. DYFI’s South-East Regional Committee joined the protest on Saturday demanding the normalization of drinking water service.


Members of the organization staged a protest with placards in their hands and buckets on their heads with the slogan ‘Jol Chai, Jol Dao’. Former mayor-in-council of SMC water supply department Sharadindu Chakraborty was present at the demonstration.

The organization alleged that the drinking water service in Siliguri has been disrupted for the last few days. The citizens are suffering from water shortage. They warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
