DYFI protests over missing newborn’s body from Siliguri District Hospital

Siliguri, 26th October: On Saturday, members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) met with the district hospital superintendent and staged a protest. Nearly ten days have passed since the disappearance of a newborn’s body from Siliguri District Hospital, yet there has been no response from the hospital authorities.

The incident, which occurred on October 17, sparked significant outrage in the city. Despite the time that has elapsed since the event, no information has been forthcoming from the hospital. The DYFI raised this concern during their protest, meeting with the Superintendent and submitting a formal letter.

They demand transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding the missing body. DYFI members warned that if no information is provided by next Monday, they will escalate their protest into a larger movement.
