Rajganj, 01st October: Most of the population in Fulbari Kalingini village near the India-Bangladesh border belong to the Muslim community. There are only a handful of Hindu families. However, both the communities have been unitedly organizing Durga Puja in the village for the past several years.
After crossing the Fulbari-Banglabandha land port, this village is situated next to the BSF camp on the border. There is no communal discrimination in this village during Durga Puja. Muslim youths too participate in dance and song programmes and spend the festive days with much zeal and enthusiasm.
“There is no racial discrimination in our village. We go out together to collect funds. We stay here and enjoy the five days of Puja together,” locals Ruksana Parveen and Marzina Khatun said.
