Naxalbari, 13th February: Police conducted a late-night raid in Khalpara area of Naxalbari after receiving a tip-off, uncovering a drug operation being run behind a grocery shop. During the search, authorities recovered 12 bottles of banned cough syrup, 11 grams of brown sugar, and around ₹1.12 lakh in cash.
Sunil Singh, also known as Sonu, was arrested in connection with the narcotics trade. Police sources revealed that Sunil had previously been arrested for drug-related offenses and had resumed his operations behind the grocery shop after being released from jail.
The arrested individual has been sent to Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for further legal proceedings.
