Siliguri, 17th February: The deteriorating condition of a drain in the Sarat Chandra Pally area under Ward No. 40 of Siliguri has raised concerns among residents. Stagnant water in the drain has created an unhygienic environment, with foul odor causing inconvenience to locals.
Residents alleged that despite drawing the attention of the councillor multiple times, no effective steps had been taken so far. Repeated complaints and the delay in initiating repair work have reportedly increased frustration among the people of the area.
A few days ago, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar visited the spot to assess the situation. After the inspection, he stated that he had personally reviewed the issue on the ground and instructed the concerned department to begin repair work at the earliest. He assured that the necessary work would commence soon.
