Siliguri, 27th April: Darjeeling District Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Pralay Acharya, during a meeting at the State Guest House late Monday night, stated that the District Health Department will send a proposal to the Ministry of Health for setting up an oxygen plant at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
During the meeting, the representatives of private nursing home management stated that as of now they have enough stock of oxygen. However, they too might face a shortage of oxygen in the coming times. In regard to this, Pralay Acharya assured that an appeal will be made to the Ministry of Health for setting up an oxygen plant in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
Along with this, proposals will also be sent to the Health Ministry for liquid oxygen at Siliguri District Hospital and Darjeeling District Hospital. Meanwhile, he said that Drug Control Officers have been entrusted to monitor the supply of oxygen.
