Siliguri, 21st June: In a recent development, a director couple of a hospital in Siliguri, Naveen Agarwal and Monika Agarwal, have been accused of fraud, leading to a significant sensation in the city. A written complaint was filed at Bhakti Nagar police station, and both directors are currently absconding.
The case came to light when Abhishek Das, another director of the hospital located in the ISKCON temple area, lodged a complaint on June 12. Das claimed that the hospital has six directors, including Naveen and Monika, who had the primary responsibility for hospital operations. He alleged that they manipulated patient bills for their advantage.
Following the complaint, Bhakti Nagar police arrested three hospital employees Alok Upadhyay, Subir Pal, and Amit Shah on Thursday for their involvement in the fraud. The arrested employees were presented in the Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
Police sources confirmed that the search for the absconding couple and investigation is underway.
Is the complainant a medico ? If not how can he be at par with the other doctor directors ?There must be somebody looking after the accounts ? This seems to be just a propaganda by some non medico person who might be expecting everything at par or even more just by virtue of being one of the directors. How can we ignore the ground reality that a hospital depends on the doctors. Their efficiency,their behaviour,their rapport with the patients play a very important rather most important role in a hospital. The complainant seems to be a believer in the power of money only.
