Jalpaiguri, 29th July: On the second Monday of the month of Shravan, the Jalpesh temple was thronged with devotees. Pilgrims from various surrounding states, including Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, and Cooch Behar, began gathering at the temple on Sunday night.
This year, as every year, the Shravani Mela is being held at Jalpesh Shivdham, located about 8 km from Mainaguri. Arrangements have been made for devotees to pour water in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
A returnee from Cooch Behar shared that several people from Cooch Behar arrived early at the Jalpesh temple. He remarked on the good arrangements, noting that while last year he poured water from outside, this year he was able to go to the sanctum sanctorum and pour water directly, which was a much better experience.
