Siliguri, 23rd November: With the rise in dengue cases across North Bengal, Siliguri Municipal Corporation has taken several initiatives to keep Siliguri free from mosquito-borne diseases.
On Tuesday, dengue awareness progarmme was held from Suryasen Park in Ward no. 10. Disinfectants and bleaching powder were sprayed on the roads and sewers. The local women distributed leaflets and raised awareness among the general public from door to door. Former councilors and local women worked together to spread dengue awareness through tablo and miking.
Kamal Agarwal, former councilor and member of the governing body, said “ Dengue outbreaks have been reported in several parts of the city. Multiple dengue cases have also been detected in our ward. Disinfectants are being sprayed for the last few days. People are supporting this initiative.”
